FAQs

How soon can I get an appointment?

We aim to offer timely appointments whenever possible. If your condition requires urgent review, your referring doctor can contact our rooms directly (usually by phone or fax) to request prioritisation. We will always do our best to accommodate urgent cases. For emergencies, please call

Yes, a referral is required to access Medicare rebates. A referral also helps ensure clear communication between your healthcare providers.

  • GP referrals are valid for 12 months
  • Specialist referrals are valid for 3 months

Please ensure your referral is current before your appointment.

Initial consultations usually run for 30-45 minutes and involve a detailed and structured assessment. This includes a thorough discussion of your medical history and current symptoms, followed by a neurological examination assessing areas such as strength, coordination, reflexes, sensation, vision, and cognitive function depending on your clinical presentation.

This process helps determine whether your symptoms relate to the nervous system and guides the next steps in your care.

In some cases, additional investigations (such as imaging [e.g. MRI and CT scans], blood tests, or nerve studies) may be recommended to clarify a diagnosis or guide treatment. These will always be discussed with you before proceeding.

At the end of your consultation, Dr Haque will outline a clear plan, which may include further investigations, treatment options, or follow-up. A detailed report will also be sent to your referring doctor to ensure continuity of care.

To get the most out of your visit, we recommend:

  • Keeping a record of your symptoms, including triggers and duration
  • Bringing a list of your medications and allergies
  • Gathering relevant medical history and previous test results
  • Writing down any questions you would like to ask
  • Considering bringing a family member or friend for support

Please bring:

  • Your referral letter (if available)
  • Medicare or concession cards
  • A list of medications (including doses)
  • Copies of relevant scans, test results, and specialist letters

Telehealth may be available for selected follow-up appointments where appropriate. However, many neurological conditions require an in-person examination, particularly for initial assessments.

Follow-up consultations are typically 15–30 minutes, depending on the complexity of your condition and ongoing care needs.

Fees vary depending on the type and complexity of the consultation. An estimate will be provided at the time of booking. Medicare rebates are available with a valid referral. Reduced fees may be available for eligible concession card holders.

Our practice is focused on providing clinical care and patient management. We do not undertake assessments for medicolegal, insurance, or compensation-related matters. If you are unsure whether this applies to your situation, our reception team would be happy to guide you

Appointments can be arranged by contacting our reception team via telephone or email. If you need to cancel or reschedule, please provide at least 24 hours’ notice so your appointment can be offered to another patient. Please leave a message and we will be in touch with you.
